Dine-in prices across 450+ establishments per line. The bar spans every price we hold; the block is the middle half of the market; the bright mark is typical. The figure on the right is the gap between cheapest and dearest, as a share of the typical price.

62.6% of the 2,497 establishments we track are running an offer or set menu this week — heaviest discounting in Wolverhampton.

UK menu price index, 2026-W43

A national average is the wrong number.

Price intuition is built from the places you happen to eat. It is a sample of about eleven establishments, weighted toward the ones near your office, and it is usually wrong by several pounds.

The market you actually compete in is a catchment, not a country. Within fifteen miles of one site the typical price can sit two pounds either side of the national figure — enough to decide whether a dish makes money.

DishMark reports the distribution for the area you define: what the cheapest charges, what the dearest charges, where the middle half sits, and which establishments are where.

You choose an area. We read what is on the menus there.

Five decisions, then one consolidated report. Nothing about the shape of your search is guessed on your behalf.

  1. 01

    Choose the area

A town, a postcode district, a county, or several combined. Radius searches run from 5 to 100 miles, and you see the area on a map before you continue.

  2. 02

    Choose the establishments

Pubs, restaurants, cafés, takeaways, chip shops, kebab shops, pizzerias, bars and taprooms. Filter by cuisine, ownership, service type or delivery platform.

  3. 03

    Say what to analyse

A whole menu, or just the dishes, sections, ingredients, dietary claims or price bands you care about.

  4. 04

    Choose the cadence

A one-off snapshot, or weekly or monthly monitoring for twelve months. Recurring reports re-discover the area as well as re-checking what we know.

  5. 05

    Read it, or export it

One consolidated report in the portal, plus PDF, Excel, CSV and audit JSON. Add recipients and it lands in their inbox too.

  6. Reports are built from a live index, so they return in under a second.

    Build a report

No price without the line it came from

A benchmark you cannot check is a rumour. Every number expands into the menu text, the source page and the date we read it.

  • We never invent a missing price

If an establishment does not publish a price, it is absent from the figures and counted in the coverage funnel. No interpolation, no estimates, no modelled fill.

  • Coverage is reported, not implied

Each report states how many establishments were discovered, checked, and had a readable menu, and why the rest dropped out. We never silently narrow your search area.

  • A failed check is not a closure

If we cannot reach a menu this week, the dish is not reported as withdrawn and the establishment is not reported as closed. Absence after a failure is missing data.

  • One statistic, one definition

The dashboard, the PDF and the workbook use the same quantile convention and default statistic, so two people reading the same report cannot reach different numbers.

Built for people who have to defend a price

If you set menu prices, sell to the people who do, or advise them, the question is the same: what is everyone else charging, and where is that moving?

Menu and food development

See where your dish sits in its market before you sign off a price, and what the spread looks like either side of it.

Pub groups and managed houses

Compare your estate against the independents around each site, by site, rather than against a national average.

Caterers and contract foodservice

Evidence for tender pricing, drawn from the actual catchment of each contract.

Suppliers and wholesalers

Watch how your product lands on menus: which dishes carry it, at what price, and how that changes.

Manufacturers

Track the retail reality of your category across channels, including delivery marketplace markups.

Advisers and investors

A dated, sourced read on pricing in a trading area, with the evidence attached for diligence.
